    Your Coffee Questions, Answered

     Machines & Grinders

Which coffee machine is right for me?

The right machine depends on what you drink, how much you make, and how involved you want to be. Consider:

    • Drinks: Espresso, black coffee, cappuccino, latte or a mix
    • Volume: Daily coffees and back-to-back brewing
    • Workflow: Hands-on control or push-button convenience
    • Grinder: Whether you already own an espresso-capable grinder
    • Setup: Budget, counter space and willingness to learn

Coffee Plus offers equipment for home brewers, prosumers, cafés, offices and hospitality businesses. Share these details, and the team can recommend the right range rather than a machine in isolation.

Manual/lever machines offer direct control over extraction and suit hands-on users.
Semi-automatic machines require grinding, dosing and puck preparation, while the machine handles brewing pressure and temperature.
Automatic/bean-to-cup machines automate more of the workflow, prioritising speed, convenience and consistency.

The right format depends on workflow, training, drink volume and desired control. For businesses, also consider peak demand, menu, staffing and site conditions.

Usually, yes. A good espresso grinder is essential for consistent extraction. Coffee Plus considers the machine, grinder, beans, water and workflow as one system.

Exception: Machines like the Meraki, with an integrated grinder, do not require a separate grinder. For traditional espresso machines, choose a grinder matched to your machine and expected volume.

Balance matters. A good machine with a poor grinder can limit results. Share your total setup budget, not just the machine budget, so Coffee Plus can account for the grinder and essentials like a scale, tamper, cleaning supplies and water treatment.

Not automatically. Home and prosumer machines may not suit commercial duty cycles or heavy milk steaming. For business use, consider daily volume, peak demand, menu, staffing, power, water, drainage and service support—not just boiler size or marketing claims.

Check the machine’s dimensions, weight, power, plug/circuit, water, drainage and clearance requirements before ordering. For commercial or plumbed-in equipment, review site conditions in advance. In India, water quality and voltage stability also matter and may affect warranty coverage, subject to product-specific terms.

Yes. We open factory packaging to perform a pre-dispatch power and function check. We do not brew or grind coffee during this inspection. We record inspection and packing evidence, and offer a replacement or refund if the item fails inspection. Therefore, a carefully opened box does not necessarily mean the product has been used.

Support depends on the product and project. We offer video-call setup guidance on selected premium home machines, while commercial machines may include on-site installation, setup and training. For commercial orders, we define delivery, installation, training and after-sales support in the quotation. Installation is charged separately unless explicitly included in the quotation.

We offer installation, setup and barista training for selected commercial machines. We confirm the format, location, scope, timing and charges in the quotation before payment. For home and prosumer machines, setup support varies by model. Contact us before ordering if training or guided setup is important to you.

Compatibility depends on the exact machine, group size, basket, portafilter and manufacturer specifications. A “58 mm” label alone does not guarantee a fit. Share your full machine model and, if needed, a photo of the component. We’ll confirm compatibility from the product specifications before you purchase.

Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, as procedures vary by machine. As a baseline, wipe and purge the steam wand after use, keep the drip tray and portafilter clean, and backflush or descale only when recommended. Never use a generic descaling routine, water hardness, boiler design and filtration matter.

Keep the hopper, chute and dosing area clean, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions before cleaning the burr chamber. Never use water or unsuitable cleaners inside the grinder. Follow the recommended schedule for inspection and burr replacement, using a qualified technician where required.

Stop using the machine for electrical faults, damaged cables, exposed wiring or uncontrolled leaks. For other issues, switch it off and contact us before attempting repairs.

Share your order number, model, serial number and photos/videos. Unauthorised repairs may affect warranty eligibility.

We don’t recommend choosing a machine based on PID alone. We look at the overall temperature-control system, machine design and intended workflow before recommending one.

There is no single ideal size. We match the grinder to your daily usage, burr size, adjustment range, retention and desired workflow rather than choosing by burr diameter alone.

Both can produce excellent coffee. We consider the grinder’s burr design, adjustment system, retention, workflow and intended use rather than treating one type as universally better.

We typically prioritise consistent grinding, precise adjustment, suitable burrs, low retention and a workflow appropriate to your volume. The right combination depends on whether the grinder is for home, prosumer or commercial use.

There is no universal lifespan. We look at build quality, usage, maintenance, water quality, service history and operating conditions. Regular maintenance and timely servicing can significantly affect equipment life.

Pre-infusion gently wets the coffee puck before full brewing pressure is applied. We consider it useful for more controlled and even extraction, depending on the machine’s design.

A 3-way solenoid valve helps release pressure from the group after brewing, making puck removal cleaner and supporting proper backflushing on compatible machines.

An E61 is a traditional group-head design known for its thermal mass and mechanical brewing system. We recommend it when its workflow and characteristics suit the user, not simply because it is an E61.

We recommend appropriate water filtration or treatment where water quality requires it. Hard or unsuitable water can affect both machine performance and maintenance.

A single-dose grinder is suited to users who frequently change coffees and want precise dosing. A hopper grinder is generally more convenient for repeat use and higher-volume workflows.

Some grinders can handle multiple brewing methods, but we recommend checking their adjustment range and intended design. Espresso requires particularly precise grind control.

We recommend starting with the essentials: a suitable grinder, scale, tamper and cleaning equipment. Additional accessories should be based on your machine and workflow rather than buying everything at once.

There is no universal lifespan. We look at build quality, usage, maintenance, water quality, service history and operating conditions. Regular maintenance and timely servicing can significantly affect equipment life.

     Coffee & Brewing

Which Coffee Plus coffee should I choose?

Choose coffee by flavour and drink style, not just roast colour.

    • Flair: 100% Arabica with citrus, berry and cocoa notes; suited to black and milk drinks.
    • Jolt: Arabica-Robusta blend with rich crema, dark chocolate and smoky spice; bold and full-bodied.
    • Classico Dark: 80% Arabica, 20% Robusta; heavy-bodied, chocolatey and lower-acidity, ideal for milk drinks.

Still unsure? Tell us your brew method and flavour preference—bright, balanced, bold or low-acidity—and we’ll guide you.

We roast selected coffees in small batches after you place your order. Please check the individual coffee page for roast and fulfilment details.

For in-stock orders, we aim to dispatch by the next business day after payment confirmation, for orders placed before 4 PM. Sundays and public holidays are excluded. This is a dispatch target, not a guaranteed delivery date.

    Use these starting points:

     • Turkish coffee: Extra fine

     • Espresso: Fine

     • Moka pot: Fine to medium-fine

     • AeroPress: Fine to medium, depending on recipe and brew time

     • V60 and pour-over: Medium-fine to medium

    • Drip coffee maker: Medium

     • Chemex: Medium-coarse

    • French press: Coarse

    • Cold brew: Extra coarse

These are starting points, not universal settings. Grinder design, coffee age, roast level, dose and recipe can all require adjustment. Where possible, order whole beans and dial in with your own grinder.

Keep coffee sealed at room temperature in a cool, dark, dry cupboard. Coffee Plus advises against using the fridge or freezer for everyday coffee because moisture and temperature swings can damage flavour. Buy quantities that match your consumption rate, and avoid repeatedly exposing the full bag to air, heat, sunlight or strong odours.

Very fresh coffee can release substantial carbon dioxide, so espresso and some manual brews may become easier to dial in after a short rest. The ideal rest varies by coffee, roast level and brew method; use the roast date as a guide, not as an expiry date. If you need a starting point for a specific Coffee Plus coffee, contact the team with the coffee name, roast level and brewer.

Yes. We offer a Classics Subscription with 24 curated 200 g packs, delivered twice a month, featuring core coffees and rotating seasonal or legacy offerings.

The schedule, duration, coffee selection, payment terms and availability shown on the product page and order confirmation apply to your subscription.

Email us at info@coffee.plus with your order or subscription number, or use the management link in your order confirmation if available.

We’ll confirm what changes are possible and when they take effect. Cancellations stop future unprocessed deliveries; orders already charged, roasted, prepared or dispatched are handled under our Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable law.

No. Freshly roasted coffee is not eligible for a voluntary change-of-mind return. This does not remove the customerʼs right to report coffee that is incorrect, damaged, defective or misdescribed.

Contact us with your order number, issue details and helpful photos or videos. We’ll assess the issue and advise the appropriate next step, which may include assessment, replacement or refund. Please keep the product and packaging until we confirm they’re no longer needed.

We generally recommend brewing within the manufacturer or recipe’s recommended temperature range, then adjusting based on the coffee and your taste.

Yes. Water makes up most of the final drink, so its mineral content and hardness can significantly affect extraction and flavour.

Bitterness can come from over-extraction, excessive brewing temperature, a grind that is too fine or an unsuitable recipe. We recommend adjusting one variable at a time.

Sourness can indicate under-extraction. We recommend checking the grind, brewing time, temperature and coffee-to-water ratio before changing the coffee itself.

A fast shot can indicate a grind that is too coarse, insufficient dose or uneven puck preparation. We recommend checking your grind and puck preparation first.

A slow shot may indicate a grind that is too fine, excessive dose or restricted flow. We recommend adjusting the grind gradually and checking puck preparation.

We recommend following the machine manufacturer’s warm-up procedure. Proper temperature stability helps maintain more consistent extraction.

We recommend keeping your dose, grind, water, temperature and brew time consistent, while changing one variable at a time when adjusting the recipe.

Small changes in grind size, dose, temperature, coffee freshness, water or puck preparation can affect extraction. We recommend controlling these variables consistently.

Crema is the golden layer that forms on top of espresso, created by gases and coffee compounds released during extraction. Its presence alone does not determine espresso quality.

Yes. Coffee changes as it ages after roasting. We recommend considering the roast date and how the coffee performs during extraction, rather than relying on age alone.

Yes. Blending coffees can create a different flavour balance. We recommend experimenting with compatible roast profiles and flavour characteristics.

It is the amount of coffee used relative to the brewing water. We use ratios to help create repeatable recipes and adjust strength consistently.

Weak coffee can result from too little coffee, too much water, insufficient extraction or an unsuitable grind. We recommend adjusting one variable at a time.

Flat flavours can come from stale beans, poor storage, unsuitable water or an inconsistent brewing process. We recommend checking freshness and brewing variables first.

Yes. Higher altitude can affect water boiling temperature and brewing conditions. We recommend making small recipe adjustments based on how the coffee tastes.

We consider a recipe dialled in when the coffee tastes balanced, repeatable and suited to your preference. Numbers are useful, but taste should ultimately guide the final adjustment.

     Orders, Shipping & Returns

    Where does Coffee Plus deliver?

We dispatch online orders from New Delhi across India. Standard road shipping is free for B2C orders, while priority options and charges are shown at checkout. We quote commercial-machine shipping separately.

Coffee Plus aims to dispatch an in-stock order on the next business day after payment confirmation. The daily cut-off is 4 pm, and Sundays and public holidays are excluded from business days. This is a dispatch target, not a guaranteed delivery date.

The estimated delivery range for an in-stock order is displayed at checkout and calculated from the order date. It is an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival date.

Tracking information is sent when the order is dispatched. If tracking has not updated or the shipment appears delayed, email info@coffee.plus with the order number so Coffee Plus can investigate with the delivery partner.

A pre-order is for a product that is not available for immediate dispatch. Full payment is collected at the time of order, and the product page displays the estimated timeline. Import, customs and sea-freight schedules can affect that estimate. Tracking is provided after the product reaches India and is booked for local dispatch.

If a pre-order is delayed by more than seven days beyond the stated timeline, Coffee Plus will contact the customer and explain the available options. These may include store credit if the customer chooses it; a refund request is assessed under the Returns & Refunds Policy and applicable law.

Contact us as soon as possible. For eligible in-stock orders cancelled before courier handover, we process refunds after applicable deductions. Roasted, specially prepared or specially procured items may have different cancellation terms.

Email us at info@coffee.plus with your order or subscription number and requested change. We’ll review the order status and confirm what’s possible. Special-order terms apply where disclosed before payment.

We may accept voluntary returns when requested by email within 7 days of delivery, provided the item is unused, complete, properly packaged and priced at ₹20,000 or less. Items above ₹20,000 are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

For approved voluntary returns, you arrange and pay for return shipping. A 10% handling charge may apply, with the balance issued as store credit. We confirm the exact deduction in writing before you send the item.

If the parcel is visibly damaged, please decline delivery where possible and contact us promptly. If damage is discovered after opening, send us the order details and clear photos or video. An unboxing video is helpful but not mandatory.

For eligible damaged items requiring assessment, we arrange and pay for collection. For insured high-value B2C shipments, we handle the courier and insurance claim directly.

Contact us with your order number. We’ll investigate with the delivery partner and arrange an applicable replacement or refund. You don’t need to contact the carrier yourself.

Our delivery partners normally make three attempts. If delivery fails due to an unreachable customer or incorrect address, we may receive the parcel back and charge re-delivery where applicable. We disclose any charge before arranging it.

We initiate approved refunds to the original payment method on the same business day. Your bank or payment provider may take 2–21 days for the funds to appear.

We acknowledge consumer complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month. For delivery, return, refund or other complaints, email us at info@coffee.plus with your order number.
