How does the brew by weight actually work?
The Barista needs to press the touchscreen when he/ she sees the first drop of coffee. From there the machines' algorithm guided by advanced precision flow sensors takes over and doses the weight accurately.

This is easily done. At the touch of the screen, any boiler can be turned off to conserve energy in off-peak times & restarted as easily.

Can a less experienced barista use this machine?
Yes. The machine can be setup for dose by weight. The Barista need only press a button. A Flow profile can be fixed to get the best out of the coffee. For more consistency, opt for the GCS where the machine monitors the espresso’s parameters and adjusts the grinder when required to always get the desired output.

You are directly controlling the flow rate (grams/second). This in turn influences the pressure that builds in the basket. It's a more direct and intuitive way to manipulate the extraction dynamics.
