    About the beans

    From the lush Gungegiri Estate (1160-1340m), this SLN 795 Arabica is special. After selective picking, cherries are fermented anaerobically for 43 hours with local 'Yele' (banana) leaves, then slowly sun-dried for 18 days to create a wonderfully sweet and syrupy cup.

      The Story of Isen

      Isen - the river of strength, flowing endlessly through Middle-earth. Like its namesake, this coffee carries you with current after current of flavour. The first sip is bright citrus, followed by the steadying sweetness of apricot and caramel. As it cools, chocolate and lime emerge, like stones glistening beneath the surface of a stream. Isen is alive, dynamic, never still. A daily ritual that renews itself each morning. With seasonal production and delicate processing, only a handful of bags exist. Don’t let the river pass you by.

      Brew it Best

      From pour-over to cold brew, Isen adapts beautifully — expect soft acidity, syrupy body, and a balance of caramel, apricot, and lime.
      Best Served: Black
      Pour-Over (V60/Chemex): A medium grind at 92-94°C will accentuate its soft acidity and notes of dried apricot and sweet lime.
      Aeropress: Ideal for a full-bodied, syrupy cup. Use a medium-fine grind and a 2-minute steep to bring out the caramelized sweetness.
      Espresso: As an espresso, it is surprisingly sweet. A slightly finer grind will balance its gentle acidity with the rich caramel and chocolate notes.
      Cold Brew: The low acidity and sweet profile make it an excellent candidate for a smooth, refreshing cold brew concentrate.
      Grinding: For optimal flavour, grind your beans immediately before brewing.
      Storage: Keep in our airtight bag, away from light and moisture.

      Discover three ways to enjoy Isen — a refreshing iced tea, a decadent affogato, and a rich French press brew.

      The Isen Iced Tea:
      Brew 60ml of Isen coffee with an Aeropress or Moka pot, then chill. Pour into a tall glass with ice, add 150ml chilled or sparkling water, and squeeze in fresh lime. Optional jaggery syrup balances the citrus for a refreshing, zesty drink.
      Apricot & Caramel Affogato: Pull a hot double shot of Isen espresso and pour it directly over one scoop of vanilla or caramel ice cream. Garnish with slices of dried apricot. The result is a creamy, indulgent dessert where caramel sweetness meets fruity brightness.
      The Isen French Press: Add 30g of coarsely ground Isen beans to a French Press with 500ml water at 94°C. Let it steep for 4 minutes, then press slowly. Expect a syrupy, full-bodied cup with caramel, apricot, and sweet lime notes shining through.
